Nicole D. Harris
is
Corporate Counsel for the Pacific Gas and
Electric Company based in San Francisco, California. She joined the
company in 2002. In her current role, Harris provides advice regarding a
broad range of transactional matters such as licensing, consulting
agreements and key procurement opportunities to support business units
across the company.
Harris was in private practice from 1998 through 2001 focusing on
commercial transactions such as financings and acquisitions in addition
to workouts and bankruptcy matters. She began her career as a law clerk
to the Honorable Leslie J. Tchaikovsky, United States Bankruptcy Court,
Northern District of California. She was subsequently appointed to the
United States Department of Justice Attorney General's Honors Program
where she worked for the Office of the United States Trustee.
Harris was identified as a young leader and selected to participate as a
Fellow of the American Bar Association Business Law Section, received
the Barrister of the Year award from the Bar Association of San
Francisco, and was the sole 2007 recipient of the Pacific Gas and
Electric Company President's Diversity Award given annually to several
of the 20,000 company employees who demonstrate an outstanding personal
commitment to diversity.
Harris has volunteered for a number of community and legal
organizations. She established the first corporate scholarship endowment
for The Achievement Award Program at the University of California at
Berkeley. Harris currently serves as chair of board of Lawyers For One
America. She is co-chair of the Committee on Corporate Counsel of the
American Bar Association Business Law Section. She is a member of the
National Bar Association, Region IX.
Harris received her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley
with high honors and her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University
of California at Berkeley.
