The following Declarations of Action offer examples of creative and effective approaches undertaken by the legal community-bar associations, corporate counsel, the government and judiciary, law firms and law schools, and legal services/public interest organizations. As they increase diversity within the profession and promote equal justice, these examples illuminate our shared vision of One America. Yet, since they are self-chosen; that is, only those organizations that heard the President's Call to Action and chose to reply to LFOA's requests for information are represented here. They are only a few of the multitude of diversity and pro bono efforts in place across all segments of the legal profession. And, although each speaks with its own voice, space constraints caused us to summarize material, necessarily leaving out many worthwhile details and elements of many programs.

Some Declarations, including those from bar associations, describe comprehensive programs. Others, especially those from law firms, describe a specific project. We tried to show how each organization approaches the goals of diversity and access to legal services, and highlight its overall mission and unique program elements. All represent a step toward One America, their energy building toward the critical mass of acceptance and justice for all. They are presented here as model programs and practices, to choose among to enhance the efforts of your own organizations.

For complete Declarations of Action order the Bar None Report. For contact information for each organization, including addresses and websites, is presented in Appendix C.
